Chicago, Illinois – May 22, 2023 – Qassam Diab is an experienced professional who successfully transitioned from the tech industry into IT recruiting. With multiple IT certifications, Qassam holds 2 AAS degrees from Moraine Valley Community College and a BA in Information Technology from Western Governors University (WGU). Given his extensive professional achievements, Qassam understands firsthand the importance of maintaining a work life balance. In a recent one-on-one interview, he discusses his strategies for balancing his personal and professional obligations.

When asked, “What is the one thing you repeatedly do and recommend everyone else do?” He recommends tuning into American neuroscientist Andrew Huberman’s podcast – Huberman Lab. Each episode aims to provide science based tools for everyday life.

“I follow Andrew Huberman. He is a neuroscientist and psychiatrist in behavioral sciences. He has a podcast teaching the neural science of breathing and the techniques used to reduce stress and anxiety. His technique entails taking a long inhale and taking a much longer exhale. I often do this practice, three to ten times. I find it very beneficial, and I would recommend that everyone practice this technique daily.”

As an IT recruiter, Qassam helps hire individuals looking for positions in the technology space. Having worked in a corporate environment since graduating university, he claims that it is vital to recharge and make time for oneself. When he isn’t working, he enjoys taking on projects at home and participating in activities such as hiking and nature walks.

“Many of my projects are do-it-yourself projects. Being out in nature, using breathing techniques, walking outside for sunlight, cold showers, and dopamine detoxes from my phone particularly. All of these things are habits that help to keep me in balance and productive.”
